From the Bride... Gill and I live in San Francisco and learned very early on in our relationship that we shared a love of food and wine. Our first trip together was a wine tasting weekend in Sonoma, and given our frequent visits to Wine Country ever since, it was only fitting that Gill proposed on a weekend trip to Napa. We knew right away that the wedding would take place in Wine Country.
Finding a venue was more challenging than we expected; there are so many beautiful wineries, hotels, and entertainment spaces in Wine Country, but none of them felt exactly right until we visited The Carneros Inn in Napa. We were taken with the low-key elegance of the property, which is designed to mimic the surrounding scenery of farmland and grapevines. Brooke Baglietto, The Carneros Inn’s amazing wedding coordinator, showed us two venues on the property, and while we expected to like the bigger one, we fell in love with the intimate space of the Hilltop Dining Room. The use of Hilltop required cutting our invite list significantly, but its wraparound views and modern, simple aesthetic felt right to both of us.
We held our ceremony in the The Carneros Inn Apple Orchard, surrounded by apple trees and views of rolling hills. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Gill and I led the party up to the Hilltop Dining Room for cocktails on the patio, followed by dinner and dancing inside the Hilltop Dining Room. As a venue, Hilltop is a blank canvas, and our florist, Julie Stevens, used our color palette of purple, green, and brown (inspired by the colors in bloom at The Carneros Inn) to bring the room to life with warmth and fun details. It was a perfect evening and The Carneros Inn was the perfect laid back, yet luxurious, venue to share our love of good food and wine, and Wine Country, with our friends and family.
