From Odyssey Cruises... In May 1991, the 600-passenger Odyssey I was christened at Navy Pier, and Michael Higgins became an industry leader in a new company called Premier Yachts, Inc. After just one season, it was clear that the company was destined for growth. By 1993, the original Odyssey I was relocated to Boston Harbor, and a new, larger Odyssey II took over the Chicago berth. Odyssey II is an award-winning vessel selected as Best of Boats/Cruises/Charters by Illinois Meetings + Events, Best of the Knot Wedding venues in 2012 and 2013, a Top Rated Restaurant in 2012 from Restaurant.com, as well as a Yelp favorite.
A wedding on the water is unlike any land-based event. Customization options are endless for our brides. They can customize everything from the flowers and decor to the music and menu. Brides have an array of enhancement options to build their dream wedding. Each and every bride is assisted by a wedding coordinator, who works with them every step of the way. And what better way to say "I do" than floating along Lake Michigan with the breathtaking Chicago skyline as your backdrop?
Most recently, the Odyssey II is undergoing a $2 million renovation. She will return in the Spring with a completely new look. The new Odyssey will feature modern rooftop lounge furniture, a celebrity chef-inspired menu with locally sourced ingredients, flat-screen plasma TVs, a refreshed wine list and new creative cocktails, LED lighting and a brand new lit dance floor. The Odyssey II also features freshly prepared cuisine by our on-board Executive Chef. The food is locally sourced and exceptionally tasteful. But what makes us a really unique venue is being able to create an unforgettable memory on the water.
