I have to say, I am a bit at a loss for words. Which, as you can imagine, doesn’t happen often. Because this wedding is basically a dream come true, and it comes to life in a beautiful fashion via the talented lens of The Robertsons. It’s so pretty, it almost doesn’t seem real, until you see the way the Bride and Groom look at each other, and then you know. This is one amazing love story. Be sure to see it all right here.

From the Bride… We met five years ago through mutual friends, and if the first date was anything to go by, then the relationship should have been a disaster. I was so nervous that I spilt our drinks over the both of us, and we spent the evening saturated. Luckily, Brad likes to see the humour in everything, so he asked me out on a second date and the rest was history.
We got engaged four years later, and knew from the beginning that we wanted a wedding day that celebrated not only our love for each other, but the love we have for our friends and family that have contributed to our life together. We opted for a less traditional day to showcase the simple things in life that we enjoy, like afternoon picnics in the sun, homemade goodies, country getaways, wildflowers and vintage treasures.
We held the ceremony and reception in a rustic location just out of Wollombi, a little country town on the edge of the Yengo State Forest. Both the ceremony & reception were held outside in a field decorated with an eclectic array of jars of wildflowers, crocheted picnic rugs, hay bales, hessian and lace bunting and other vintage finds that tied in our rustic theme. We are so blessed to have such generous families and friends, who all wanted to lend their talents and be a part of our special day. The Pastor from our church married us, friends of ours provided the music for the ceremony, my mum and sister did our hair and make-up, and each of our guests brought a plate of food to share for our afternoon tea picnic style reception. As a thank you to our guests, each received a vintage crystal wine glass as their wedding favour, which was both special and practical.
The effort our friends and family put in to make our day so incredible is by far, our most cherished memory of the day. A DIY wedding comes with its fair share of stress, but our family made it a much easier and enjoyable process. We are also indebted to our amazing photographers and videographer, who captured our day so perfectly, for us to always be reminded of the cute little memories we created with the people that we love, on our special day.
