Toronto Islands Engagement Session from Marianne Rothbauer Photography
There are few more important decisions a couple will make about their wedding day than who they'll choose to capture it all, and this sweet Toronto couple couldn't have any picked better. From the Bride... I am so thrilled to share with you our engagement photos, taken by one of the most incredible photographers (and human beings) I know. Let me start by saying - I wish Marianne Rothbauer would follow me around every single day, capturing each moment of my life through her beautiful lens. I first saw her work on SMP, and right away I knew she'd be the one to capture our most important moments. Her images are timeless, romantic and intimate - they evoke an epic feel.
On a chilly October morning, we met Marianne at the Ferry Docks in Toronto and made our way across the lake to the Toronto Islands. My fiance Paul and I love Toronto. We were both born and raised here - and now we live and work in the city. But we are also beach bums at heart - so this location was the perfect mix of sand, waves and a killer view of the skyline. We wanted to achieve a few things during our session - incorporate a shot from the session to use as our Save The Date, and shoot our Table Numbers for the wedding. I got the idea to shoot the Table Numbers from Pinterest, and I just loved the thought of posing with life-sized numbers then placing the photos in a frame to guide our guests to their seats. A friend of ours works for a printing company, and he generously offered to print the 4 ft tall numbers for us on white foam core. We had a blast on the beach with those numbers, and can't wait to see our guests reactions when they sit down for dinner.
All in all it was a perfect day - complete with tender moments, a leaf fight and some 'Dirty Dancing' inspired dance moves. Spending the day with Marianne was a blast - she made us feel comfortable and happy. We love her, we love the photos, and absolutely cannot wait till our wedding day!
