Palm Beach, New South Wales Wedding from Jane & James Photography
I kind of think this wedding is one the greatest weddings I have ever seen. What else could explain my complete and utter devotion to its laid-back elegance, seriously adorable twosome and overall love-filled day of pretty? It's mesmerizing. And to top it all off, each and every moment takes place seaside, with the crystal blue waters and fresh, salty air a fabulous compliment to every second of love-filled magic. See the entire day captured by Photography by Jane & James right here. You're going to love it.
From the Bride... Our only two themes for the day really were, we wanted our guests to enjoy themselves, have great food and drinks. And we needed to be married near the sea.
We really hoped our day would be a fun-filled day for guests and full of love. We didn't want to have a traditional sit down wedding, we wanted people to sit and talk to who they liked, my husband's motto for the day was "the only rule is, there is no rules" which served us well, we didn't expect everything to run seamlessly with our laid back approach, but it did!
For the ceremony we had originally planned to get married in a park on Sydney's Northern Beaches, but after stumbling across Bay Cottage we just couldn't resist the views, and it also meant our DIY theme could carry through... All of the styling products were bought by me and my Bridesmaid, who also happens to style weddings as a second job, she kindly helped out with making sure the ceremony was set up just as I had planned! We made sure there was plenty of food, drinks, and of course Fresh Lemonade for the small break whilst we had our pictures taken, we really wanted our guests to hang out, mingle and enjoy the break between ceremony and reception rather than have to try and fill in a hour or so in between!
The Boathouse in Palm Beach was the perfect location for our reception, and coincidentally the only venue we looked at! As soon as we had the wedding pack in our hands we knew this was the place for us! I was in love with the seaside styling such as Lobster pots, chunky timber furniture and fresh fruit flowers, etc. without the corny seagulls, anchors and life rafts! Scott just loved that it was right near some of his favourite spearfishing spots, and fitted our theme of good times and no wrongs or rights!
I feel as though I got very lucky with our wedding, I really didn't dwell on the day and just focused on making it enjoyable for our guests, everything seemed to fall into place (just like the Kombis) and we have had so many people say to us it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to! Which is the ultimate compliment I think.
It was truly the best day of our short lives and we loved every minute!
