You know what makes me happy? Colorful weddings. Vibrant, full of life, downright gorgeous colorful weddings. They never, ever fail to make me smile. So, when I first laid my eyes on this Long Island beauty, well… crazy joy started flowing through my veins. Because this breathtaking gem is not only boasting bright pops of purple, pink and yellow, but an entire gallery of pretty captured by Robin Roemer AND one seriously adorable duo. From the Bride… When Mark and I began wedding planning, our three “must-haves” were: an amazing photographer, a live band, and lots of fun color! Luckily we were able to find and have all three on our big day which made it that much more fun and memorable for everyone!
The morning of the wedding, I got ready at my parents house on Long Island. My bridesmaids and I listened to music, sipped mimosas, and had bagels, all while praying that the rain would let up. It was pouring all morning! Mark and the groomsmen got ready at the hotel that our guests were staying at, 20 minutes away. Our prayers were answered and right before we had to leave for the church, the rain stopped and we were able to take a few pictures outside my parents’ house!
We had our ceremony at the beautiful old church in my hometown that I grew up going to – Saint Patrick’s Church in Bay Shore, New York. It was a sweet, simple ceremony performed by my father’s cousin. Afterwards, we took pictures at the Brightwaters Lakes nearby. Again, miraculously, the rain held out until right before it was time to head to our reception! We had our reception at the Royalton Mansion in Roslyn Heights. It’s understated elegance made it the perfect location for us and the food and service were beyond incredible! In addition, thanks to the East Coast Band, our guests were up and dancing way before dinner was even served!
Overall, Mark and I had such an amazing, special day! We had so much fun with our friends and family and we feel so lucky to have had it all beautifully captured by our talented photographer Robin Roemer! It was a perfect day we’ll never forget!
