When I fall in love with a wedding gown, I fall hard. As in, I pin away like crazy, forward it to all of my friends and save it in a folder I call “someday”. Yep… I love me some bridal fashion. So, when I first spotted this gorgeous Marisa gown, it was like fireworks in every sense of the word. Because this is the kind of gown that you can only dream of wearing in your vintage meets rustic chic meets backyard soiree. Oh, and the bride rockin’ this lacy masterpiece? She’s stunning. From the Bride… Tucker and I knew from the start that we wanted a laid back outdoor wedding where everyone could feel right at home. We started off looking at a number of locations around the Texas Hill Country before we finally saw the potential of what was right in front of us. Tucker’s parents have a couple of acres of land just about 5 minutes away from where we live, so we decided to have it right in their backyard. The beauty of it was that we could transform it into practically anything we wanted with the money we would save by not renting out a location.
I envisioned a vintage country style wedding with lots of antique lace mixed with burlap and beautiful chandeliers. The real challenge was making this vision happen within a 6 month time frame. I took to Pinterest immediately and came up with all kinds of great little touches and hunted antique stores on a regular basis for old jars and lace doilies. All of our friends and family came together to help us make our vision come true. My stepfather built the arbor for the ceremony as well as put together the old doors that were used as a back drop for the cake. My cousins husband’s BBQ cook-off team catered the wedding and it was amazing! We are so thankful for all of the help we received and could not have ever dreamed of a more beautiful intimate wedding!
