We’ve been celebrating the collaboration genius of Lisa Vorce, Mindy Rice and Aaron Delesie this afternoon. And believe me when I tell you, the result of their creativity and know-how is always a glorious thing. Have a look at this Ojai wedding for starters; a glamorous affair in the fields of the Central Coast. And if you’re in the mood for more, we have a gorgeous Maine wedding from this crazy talented group and a croquet party not to be missed over on SMP Living. Oh and even more here in the full gallery.
From Lisa Vorce… Chelsea and Brent were an absolute joy to work with! They are two of the smartest, funniest and most talented individuals we know, and they put a great deal of trust in both me and Mindy allowing us to create something completely unique and customized to who they are as a couple. We came up with a fresh color palette of butter yellow, charcoal grey and crisp white – a perfect complement to the beautiful May weather at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa. To create an event that truly represented both Chelsea and Brent, we took inspiration from their upbringings – (she’s a Southern California native, Brent is originally from Texas) – and infused these details into their wedding. The welcome gifts featured a collection of Chelsea + Brent’s hometown favorites including California and Texas beers, California pistachios, California & Texas shaped sugar cookies and chips in custom bags with Brent’s famous Texas queso recipe printed on them. To kick off their wedding weekend, Chelsea surprised Brent by turning their welcome reception into a “Texas themed BBQ” around the pool. The wedding took a more traditional approach juxtaposed with some fun and playful details. For the florals, Mindy incorporated California avocados into the lush white and butter yellow arrangements. We fused the formality of crystal chandeliers with rustic wood lanterns into both the ceremony site and the reception tent. The most touching and personal elements of the event honored Brent + Chelsea’s late fathers. Chelsea and Brent paid tribute to their father’s legacies through simple floral presentations during their ceremony, typewriter escort card holders (Chelsea’s father was a screenwriter) and a late night doughnut bar (a favorite snack of both fathers). Such special details and so touching.
