Although there is a teeny tiny part of me that wants to run off to Hawaii, find a secluded beach and say “I do” with the one I love, there’s just something about a classic affair that tugs at my heart strings. Every single time. Maybe it’s the traditional ceremonies, the stunning ballroom settings or the gowns with trains that go on for miles (and miles), but diving into a classic soiree always makes me one happy blogger. And this breathtaking gem planned to perfection by Weddings by Karolina? It’s a show-stopper of a day with crazy gorgeous florals from The Flower Firm and one glorious image after another captured by Ann & Kam Photography. See it all in the full gallery.
From Weddings by Karolina… Marilia and Daniel are originally from Latin America, but were planning their wedding from Iowa, and chose the big city of Chicago to have their wedding day. Since every single guest was from out of town they wanted to make sure that everyone would have plenty to see and do in Chicago. They chose the beautiful St. Mary of the Angels Church for their ceremony. The church was still decorated with Christmas trees, poinsettias, and beautiful Christmas lighting, so the church didn’t really need much decor. Although the Flower Firm did provide some beautiful altar arrangements on pillars.
The reception was held at the lovely Peninsula Hotel. The entrance to the cocktail hour had beautiful white drapery with a gorgeous floral arrangment adorning the place card table. Cocktail hour and dinner music was played by the Michael Daly Jazz Trio. One of my favorite parts of this wedding was Marilia and Daniels’ intimate guest list of 45. There were smaller tables used for the room that fit 5 guests at each table. The Flower Firm again did beautifully arranged tall centerpieces atop a mirrored base surrounded by candlelight. Marilia and Daniel used unique Bem-Casados cookies, a Latin American tradition, for favors. I definitely loved this intimate wedding and how the couple brought a piece of Latin America to Chicago.
