Garden Wedding Inspiration from Amber Housley + Cyn Kain Photography

What do you get when a host of talented wedding gurus join forces for a Chesapeake Bay photo shoot? Gorgeousness my friends. Absolute gorgeousness. With design and styling by Amber Housley, images by Cyn Kain Photography, florals by Holly Heider Chapple Flowers, hair and makeup by Amie Decker Beauty, treats by Charm City Cakes, and fashions from Hitched Bridal, this Perry Cabin shoot is so sweet you’ll want to sink your teeth right in. In addition to bringing us a boat-load beautiful inspiration they were also kind enough to share the recipe for this tasty southern cocktail. You can feast your eyes on even more of this feminine photo shoot right here in the gallery.

From Amber Housely… We designed this photo shoot to represent the gorgeous lush gardens of the Inn at Perry Cabin with the peony flower being our main inspiration. Likely to be called the official summer flower of the south, the stunning peony makes its appearance in the floral arrangements, paper goods, table linens, and even the Christos dress style name!

We chose a soft, feminine blush pink palette with accents of gold and coral to reflect the traditional charm and freshness of the landscape. The Inn at Perry Cabin is in the town of St. Michaels, Maryland and is made famous in the movie “The Wedding Crashers.” This quiet retreat on the Chesapeake Bay is not only perfect for a gorgeous destination wedding, it would also make for an amazing, intimate honeymoon. The property features a long and expansive driveway, white columns, lush gardens, quiet pathways and historic romantic charm. Some of the blooms and blossoms featured are straight from the inn’s gardens and pathways. The bouquets and reception table florals were exquisitely designed by Holly Chapple.

The peony illustration was representative of the gardens of The Inn at Perry Cabin. The gold metallic cardstock backing pairs well with the blush pink and ivory tones of the coordinating elements. The calligraphy typeface was chosen as a nod to the historical roots of the venue, but also to add a touch of elegance and formality to the garden affair. Vintage stamps in coordinating colors were used on the mailing envelope.

To continue the peony and garden details of this wedding style, florals of various garden varieties that complimented the venue’s gardens, were contained in antique compote vessels and paired with formal glass beaded pillar candles from the family’s own personal collection. The main centerpieces were displayed on gold vintage mirrors. To help bring a modern touch to the table, we used soft linens in a blush pink with peony rosettes and shimmer confetti. There was also a nice mix of metals from the mirror frames, the flatware and candle votives. The unique table linens are a welcome break from the norm. Produced by Nuage Designs, they bring extra texture and interest to the dining table. Soft and feminine florals help anchor the dressy fabrics and bring it together in a stunning dimensional look.

The peach-apricot heart cut cookies would make for a great favor to be made at home with family, using farm fresh local fruit. This could also be a passed-down family recipe. Packaging them up in a muslin bag with custom tag makes the perfect guest treat. Our specialty kids table not only takes all the colors and patterns up a notch, but also includes a sweet surprise box filled with all sorts of kid-friendly goodies. And of course, two cakes are always better than one! Have trouble deciding on a cake design? Why not have two! These gorgeous designs by Charm City Cakes are displayed on gold-framed mirrors.

Our model, Heather, was recently married in Washington D.C. Her husband is a baseball player for the Nationals.
