There’s so many fun details that make up this pretty blue and yellow wedding by the beach, but I have to admit, the nostalgic nerd in me loves the fact that the bride’s grandfather performed the ceremony. That’s my favorite part. Don’t get me wrong, the ceremony and reception were both drop dead gorgeous and Brooke Roberts Photography captured each moment perfectly. But don’t take my word for it. From the Bride… Since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of the “fairy-tale wedding.” I used to make my sisters put a blanket over my head as a veil, draped like a train behind me, and I walked down our long hallway holding a brush for a bouquet. I always hoped I would find someone special that would be waiting for me at the end of my walk, and I have definitely found that in Brett. He is the love of my life, so this day is really going be a dream come true for me. I have always wanted to have an outside wedding by the beach, so when we found The Beachview Club on Jekyll Island, I knew it was the perfect place. That was the first big thing crossed off the list! I like simple but elegant, so that’s what I have aimed for in planning all of the details for our wedding. I loved the idea of using lanterns, so I asked that those be added to the trees that cross over the ceremony spot. My grandfather will be marrying us, and he has performed the ceremonies in all of his grandchildren’s weddings so far. He is one of the greatest men I have ever known, and a very important person in my life, so the ceremony will definitely be special having him officiate. Aside from all of the small details added here and there, I really feel like our friends and family are going to make our day more special than anything. We are so excited to be able to share this day with all of the people that mean the most to us, and my goal is for everyone to just have fun and celebrate!
