Can you really coordinate purples, greens, blues, yellows AND magentas? Together into a mexican wedding fiesta with a super hip taco truck? AND the whole event turns out insanely chic? I need to immediately tip my hat and give some serious love to Jessica Sloane who coordinated this tale of two love birds. The way it is photographed by Crystal K. Martel Photography and recorded by Needle & Thread Media just goes to show you how being creative and staying true to who you are as a couple makes the day super unique and oh, so much fun! From the Bride...Trent and I met back in the summer of 2009. My sister and I Skyped one day and her friend Trent, happened to be over. One look at the boy and I was smitten. I thought he was so handsome and wanted to meet him in person so bad! I made a visit from Charlotte, NC to Nashville, TN that fall and instantly fell in love with this guy I barely knew. Months flew by of getting to know each other better and we started dating April 2010. Our relationship was beautiful and tough all at the same time. We dated long distance for almost a year until I decided to move to Nashville in January 2011. A few months later on a warm June day, Trent and I got engaged! and almost a year later, we were exchanging vows and walking down the aisle as husband and wife. We're so in love.
Trent and I had gone back and forth while planning our wedding, with how we wanted the day to look and feel like. We finally settled on just wanting our wedding day to feel like a huge party. We wanted the decor to be bright & fun, the atmosphere to be laid-back and most importantly, for the day to feel like "us". I think we definitely succeeded, with some help, of course. We enlisted the help of Jessica Sloane Event Styling and Design and boy, we don't know what we would have done without her! She helped conceptualize all of my ideas (I had so many!) into one beautiful wedding day. Overall, our wedding feel was simple, sweet & vintage inspired. We almost wanted our guests to feel like they were at a high school dance in the 50's. We got married in an old church that was built in the 1800's. It had incredible brick walls, hardwood floors and original architecture. So we didn't have to do much to the space at all! We made almost every bit of the decor. Most being made out of inexpensive crepe and tissue paper. We wanted to keep the space simple, yet bright and cheery.
There were a number of moments throughout the day that that I just loved. My favorite would have to be walking down the aisle. As cliche as that might sound, there was just something special about both my mom and dad linking arms with me and walking me down to meet my husband. I've never felt so close to my parents, the way my dad carefully handed me off to Trent was just the sweetest.
From the groom: Jordana and I definitely didn't want to do a first look before the ceremony. We both wanted to be completely surprised when we saw each other for the first time. So, seeing the look on my bride's face as she walked down the aisle was just the best part for me. I tried my hardest to keep it together. She looked so beautiful.
