Orange County Wedding at Franciscan Gardens from Kimberly Conners Events

From the Bride... Daniel and I immediately had our hearts set on choosing a wedding venue in San Juan Capistrano. We love the rustic, historic charm of downtown San Juan and the feeling that it seems as though we are miles away from home - even though it's just a few miles from where we both grew up. Franciscan Gardens captured our hearts with its intimate setting, strung garden lights and large rustic gates. Not to mention the bridal and groom suites which were to-die-for.
As a lover of country music, it was a given that my wedding would be adorned with burlap, lace, boots, and mason jars. It was important to me to create a classic, yet elegant feel to my ceremony and reception while still incorporating rustic elements. From the hanging mason jars filled with baby's breath and each bridesmaid wearing cowboy boots, to the amazing twig-covered arch strewn with elegant crystals and the burlap squares in the center of each table, it was amazing to watch my vision come to life on the big day.
A couple of my favorite highlights were our grandparents' and parents' wedding photos that accompanied the guest book. It was important to both Daniel and I that we honor our grandparents in some way since they have all passed on and couldn't physically be there to celebrate. In lieu of favors, we made a donation in each guest's honor to the Breast Cancer Society to celebrate Daniel's mom's recent victory against breast cancer. One of my favorite details at our wedding was the 'his and her's' wine from Sarloos & Son's winery in Solvang, CA. Each bottle of 'his' (the red wine) was personally addressed to Daniel and signed by Mr. Sarloos himself, while each bottle of 'hers' (the white wine) was addressed to myself. Our day was filled with personal touches which really set the stage for a magical evening dancing under the stars and celebrating our new marriage with the ones that we love the most. None of it could have been possible without all of our fabulous vendors!
