I’ve always loved Saddlerock for the sheer fact that there is a resident zebra and branded wine. That actually makes me want to live there. But I’d never seen it all gussied up by Kristeen LaBrot Events and shot by Amanda McKinnon Photography. It brings it to a whole new level of adoration. One that involves succulents and a doughnut hole cake and I think you all are going to be just as enamored. Get cozy with the gallery right here.
From the Bride… Eric and I met in high school and had no idea we would one day be married! Eric maintains he was too cool for me in high school, while it is clear to me he had no chance. We started dating post-college when Eric, armed with charm and many donuts, won my heart. Six years and many Michigan football games later Eric proposed! Eric, a CPA and Michigan football lunatic, could not get married during tax season and refused to have a wedding during football season, which left the summer months. Living in Southern California, we wanted to have our wedding outdoors. Saddlerock not only checked our outdoor wedding box, but it is also home to amazing animals – an added bonus for an animal loving pair. It was the first place we visited and right away knew it was the one.
In keeping with our outdoor theme, we chose a neutral rustic palette. People tried to encourage us to choose a “pop” color but with a wedding party of 21 people, you would have to really like a particular color! The most special touch we had at our wedding was having our family friends officiate. They helped make the wedding so memorable for us. We also exchanged personal vows. For the reception we surprised our non-jewish, hora loving friends when we forced them up on the chairs, which was a favorite moment of ours. And of course – our donut hole cake! The most vivid memory of our wedding day was feeling so much love from all of our family and friends! It was overwhelming in the greatest way.
