From the Bride... I never really thought about the details of a wedding. I’m not one of those girls who had been planning my wedding since childhood, so when it came time to actually start planning, I was a little lost. I have been a bridesmaid more times than I can count, so I had a general idea of the feeling I wanted our wedding to convey, but having that come to fruition took a lot of hard work and help from my very patient sister, friends and wedding planner (best advice, get a wedding planner!).

I had an image of a rural and rustic wedding with an outdoor ceremony, indoor reception (I’m always cold!), a big family dinner and lots of dancing. Living in the Bay Area we have no shortage of stunning wedding venues, most of which I think we toured during the first couple months of our engagement.

The Headlands Center for the Arts actually took a couple visits before we could visualize our wedding there but ultimately, I’m so glad we chose it. It is a venue unlike any others and was the perfect place for us to celebrate with all our friends and family.

Our ceremony was in a beautiful un-manicured field that felt very private and special. Dinner was exactly what we had imagined: family style with ingredients fresh from the farmers’ market. Six months later our friends and family are still raving about the food! During dinner a bridesmaid looked at me and said “shhh, listen…” it was the sound of all of our friends and family talking, laughing and having so much fun. Pausing at that moment to absorb it ended up being one of my favorite memories from the day. Everything was perfect, from our amazing band to the delicious pies and best of all getting to marry the love of my life. It was the party Jon and I had pictured from the beginning.

Our entire wedding weekend was practically flawless. Guests stayed in the quaint town of Tiburon where we held our rehearsal dinner (my in-laws sure know how to throw a party!), and the weekend ended with a brunch held at our friends’ beautiful Tiburon home. The hard work our friends and family put into the weekend made it an experience we will never forget.
