Weddings were made to be draped in dreamy white florals if we do say so ourselves. And by draped, we mean covering every single inch of this pretty affair captured by Angela Anderson Photography. Dripping from the chairs lining the aisles of the ceremony all the way to the hydrangea and moss table runners, the amount of lush blooms is beyond. Another lovely addition to this occasion was Momental designs, who managed to set the tone of the whole wedding with their hand painted invites and elegant signage. As you peruse the gallery, note how this couple’s vision is in every last stunning detail.
From the Bride… I like to think I’m a creative person with an artistic streak, so I drew and designed our save-the-dates. Although family and friends were nice enough to tell me how cute they were, I knew I should keep my day job and leave it to the professionals. We knew we wanted something out of the ordinary for our stationary, but didn’t know exactly what. So in our hunt for the perfect invitations, with the help of our wedding planner, we found Momental Designs! We immediately knew they were the stationary designer for us because everything is hand-painted and one of a kind! How can you get any more unique than that! Our invitations were very intricate with hand-painted flowers, lace cut-out bands and a monogram. They were elegant yet whimsical, which was exactly the mood we wanted to portray of our wedding.
Our theme of “vintage elegance with a bit a of whimsy” continued in our chalkboard inspired seating chart with fonts that brought a vintage feel, whimsically painted table numbers on clear acrylics, and menus banded with lace cut-outs. As part of the favors, we gave our guests a CD of songs we listened to on our first date, which was a southern meal prepared by Daniel (got to love a man that cooks!). Momental Designs designed the CD sleeves with our names and a caption that read “Music to Eat Chicken Cordon Bleu to” in vintage fonts. What a wonderful job capturing our wedding theme and us as a couple in our stationary!
Like a lot of brides, one of my favorite moments from our wedding day was seeing Daniel for our “first look.” I felt so much love and happiness in that moment that I broke out in tears. However, my #1 favorite moment from that day didn’t involve the groom at all. My favorite moment was when my dad gave the welcoming speech. He didn’t say much and he spoke in broken English, but he touched every heart in the room. My dad, who was always stern and serious and who I knew for sure would not be emotional on my wedding day, choked up and was trying to hold back his tears and emotions. After a long pause, he gave up and started crying. I can’t explain how much love I felt at that moment and I finally felt like I understood the man behind the stern exterior.
If I can have a do-over in life, I would be a wedding planner. I just love everything wedding-related! So of course I enjoyed most aspects of wedding planning, except the logistics and budget (which wedding planners probably have to deal with most, so maybe I wouldn’t be a great planner). What I enjoyed most was designing floral arrangements. I knew I wanted flowers galore for the reception with magical floral trees reminiscent of Preston Bailey’s designs, and table runners made of flowers, moss and candles. It was amazing to see the floral design team at Lauren Chitwood Events bring my vision to life. They made it even more beautiful than what I had imagined, and it was absolutely breath-taking!
