Hilton Head Wedding from Landon Jacob Productions
My love for Hilton Head Island runs deep. Between the charming seaside vibe and the gorgeous ocean views, it's essentially a dream wedding locale. And for this couple, who's fateful meeting eventually lead them to their destination "I do's" at the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort, it was the perfect spot to start their lives together. From Landon Jacob Productions... Daniel and Jessica met on eHarmony during the summer of 2010 while Daniel was supposed to be studying for the California Bar Exam. Immediately after finishing the exam, the couple embarked on a 10 day roadtrip across the country as their first date. They've been inseparable ever since. The two currently live in Sacramento where Daniel is an attorney and Jessica is a nurse.
The wedding location of Hilton Head Island was due in part to Jessica's pregnant sister who was unable to fly to a wedding from Ohio where she lived and Jessica's dream of having an oceanside ceremony. So after searching up and down the southeastern seaboard of places within driving distance from Ohio, they decided on the Shorehouse at the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort. Daniel originally wanted a ceremony in a church and Jess wanted a toes-in-the-sand beach ceremony so the Shorehouse was a perfect compromise. At least Daniel got to wear real shoes (Jess still wore flip flop sandals). The placement of the wedding - facing the fireplace and not the ocean - was inspired by their photographers who were concerned about lighting. The shift to the fireplace turned out to be perfectly suited for the candles, flowers, and overhanging sign that ultimately decorated the space. Generally, the decorations for the wedding were inspired by Jessica's and her mother's countless hours of internet searching. The couple wanted a casual but elegant oceanside wedding. The sign above the fireplace was homemade by Jessica and her mother, as were the floral arrangements and other decorative elements.
