I’m a die hard Nichols fan. This wedding captured my heart and since then it’s been one pretty gem right after the other from their lens; culminating in a wedding with so much goodness, I kind of don’t know where to look first. Maybe the cute dog? Oh that cute dog. But then there’s all those pretty blooms by The Nouveau Romantics that are pure white perfection and a dessert table so scrumptious, I’m ready to dive in head first. From Liz of The Nouveau Romantics... Sean and Stephanie set out to create a classic yet rustic evening that showcased their new home turf of Texas to their East Coast friends and family. From a mariachi band and cacti during the cocktail hour, to their venue– Barr Mansion’s– certified organic rating, the couple was adamant about incorporating as many local touches to their guest’s experience.
Using the venue’s verdant gardens and rustic ballroom we mixed the bride’s love of classic style in black and white, with groom’s more rustic and colorful sensibilities into all the design elements, from the elegant dahlia and snowberry-filled chuppah that used the bride’s family’s tallit, to the oak leaf “canopies” in the reception, to the hanging garden of escort cards, to a menu that was entirely locally-sourced. The dessert bar was a mix of the couple’s favorite candy and East Coast desserts including “Black & White Yodels” and sea salt caramels from Liddabit Sweets in Brooklyn, New York.
