From the Bride…When we started to think about what we wanted for our wedding, we knew that it had to be at a vineyard, but we wanted it to be green. Being from Orange County, a green vineyard can be hard to find when the closest wineries are in Temecula. When we walked through Ponte Winery for the first time, Brian and I both knew this is where we wanted to get married. It was not only beautiful and full of greenery, but it also had a very peaceful and romantic feel to it. With my mother purchasing an event design and flower shop just weeks before I got engaged, I knew everything was going to fall perfectly into place. We first worked together to come up with a theme. After looking through hundreds of featured weddings on blogs and images on Pinterest, I couldn’t decide on one theme. I loved the rustic, vintage look, but I also wanted it to be elegant and romantic. We incorporated burlap with a bit of sparkle and mercury glass, and it was everything I wanted.
Much of our wedding was DIY. We sewed all of the cocktail tablecloths as well as the cake tablecloth. We also sewed burlap CD cases, which served as both favors and seat assignments. My bridesmaids and mother-in-law were there once a week for weeks helping on different projects for the wedding. My mom was there for it all. She hand mercury glassed all of the vases used for centerpieces. My favorite piece we created for the wedding is probably the rustic wooden doors. She hand-stained the wood and frosted the windows. The girls from the flower shop did an amazing job designing gorgeous flower arrangements, and the arbor for the ceremony turned out beyond stunning. Both the corsages, using a pearl bracelet rather than ribbon, and boutonnieres, succulents wrapped in burlap, were incredibly unique. Attached to my bouquet were charms with images to honor the loved ones who could not be there.
As a photographer myself, I was concerned with the lighting for both the ceremony and portraits. Before the wedding, I kept checking the sunset time, hoping to get photos during golden hour. The sunset that day was divine, providing amazing light that both the photographers and the videographer were able to take advantage of. Our wedding was beyond anything we ever dreamed of. We could not have been happier with the result.
