Destination, or as I like to call them, Vacation Weddings, are a sure fire way to get yourself to the tippy top of your friends and family’s favorites list. Because who wouldn’t love a mingling of sun, fun and a side of love and nuptials? No one, that’s who. And if that Wedcation is loaded with open air dining and easy elegant details crafted by A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production then you’re in luck. Because the only thing better than a Wedcation, is a crazy gorgeous one. Head to the gallery for even more of this day captured by Brandon Kidd Photography.
From Natalie of A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production… Amy & Patrick were planning their destination wedding from Florida, their family and friends are all over the country (thanks to their constant moving) so they wanted to choose a place that would be a vacation for all who came. Living a short time in Southern California, Amy and Patrick fell in love with the casual beach vibe and gorgeous weather. So San Clemente it was! They selected Casa Romantica in San Clemente as the backdrop for their intimate wedding. Feeling overwhelmed with the idea of planning the wedding from so far away Amy contacted me for planning and design help. So glad that she did- they are such a truly wonderful couple!
Amy had seen so many different ideas for the look of the wedding that she couldn’t decide what was best for them. We worked with her to truly bring to life all the passions that they possess individually and as a couple. Amy and Patrick met on the bus (no really it’s true!), they were both in college and they went on a field trip for their culinary program and ended up sitting next to one another (love such serendipitous meetings). Speaking of culinary school, we wanted to bring that to life in the design- by creating arrangements of assorted fresh herbs we created a European dinner party feel as an intimate setting for guests. A soft palette of pinks, greens, and grays of set with wooden tables completed the look. Amy’s Mom made runners with a beautiful damask pattern, candles adorned with lace accented the tables.
Bringing their family and friends together (some who had never met) was so important to this fun loving couple. Their ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, complete with beautiful music by Denny White. Being true “foodies” the bride and groom were very concerned about serving delicious food. Iva Lee’s provided a beautiful assortment of exotic cheeses with a Mediterranean spread during cocktail hour followed by a delicious dinner. All the details and love were beautifully captured by Brandon and Kristin of Brandon Kidd Photography. Touching toasts were giving during dinner that really evoked what this day was all about for Amy and Patrick- love, family, friends, food, and wine!
