Destination weddings aren’t always seaside, sipping fruity cocktails. Sometimes they’re right around the corner in the perfect rustic barn. This New York City couple chose to host a wedding weekend for friends and family in upstate New York, thus allowing everyone to extend the happy celebration for three whole days. True genius if you ask us. Because the only thing better than a wedding day is a big, whopping wedding weekend, especially when Jillian Mitchell is there to capture every last pretty second of it. See it here.
From Jillian Mitchell Photography… Tara and Eric opted for a close destination wedding in Hudson, NY so all of their friends and family could attend from the city, but still have a weekend of festivities together rather than one day. They stayed and got ready at the Route 66 farm house which is part of the Apple Barn Farm family and the ceremony and reception were held at Apple Barn Farm. A little rain in the morning wasn’t enough to slow anyone down and the sun cleared just in time for the ceremony. Mariachis serenaded the reception while guests may or may not have attempted to bribe the horses with gin and tonics. The bride’s father did a killer dance to ‘Shout’ so good in fact he just might have been posessed and the night ended with sparklers for all.
