So much fun. It's exactly what your wedding day should be and this beauty from Grey Sparrow Photography at Scena espace événementiel has all the grins, laughs, and that joyous kind of fun you can't live without. Radiant in the beautifully unique White by Vera Wang gown and the mastermind behind all of the DIY details to boot, this Bride is quickly becoming one of my favorites. From the Bride & Groom... Our favorite part of our wedding experience was the whole week leading to it — as well as the trip to the Azores when Lucas proposed and the honeymoon spent sailing in the Greek islands! We had family and friends help us with preparations and last-minute details the whole week. The trick to making it stress-free was that everything had been planned in advance, and we had a somewhat detailed schedule of what we wanted to accomplish each day. Things that stand out were the day before the wedding, when we had one crew working on making bouquets and floral arrangements while another was icing cupcakes, and a third was making the seating chart. At the last minute, my mother and her friends decided to give guests Chinese take-out containers filled with hydrangea petals to throw during the recession — it made for a beautiful and romantic exit.
The planning process for our wedding really was not as difficult as we had expected it to be. The hardest part was probably choosing the venue. We wanted a place that was original yet also had experience with running weddings. Our only wedding planner was Lauren's mother, and she helped us out a lot given that we live in Toronto and that she lives in Montreal, where we got married. We also tried to involve our loved ones as much as possible, because it made the process both more fun and cheaper.
The day itself was magical. We had written our own vows, and sharing these with each other was an emotional experience. Our first dance, a medley of Stand by Me, Gold Digger and Party Rock Anthem, turned into a flash mob! It was a day we will never forget...
