I’m a sucker for a dog in a bow tie. Also on my love list is al fresco weddings. The kind with gorgeous long tablescapes as far as the eye can see and chandeliers strung from the skies all at the hands of The Stylish Soiree and Branch Out Floral and Event Design. When it comes down to it, I’ll take any and all open air venues but the ones in California, they just have that certain extra sparkle; we’ll call it the never ending sunshine. From Viera Photographics… Josephine and Erick are a soft-spoken couple who reside outside of San Francisco. They are the proud parents of Bodie; probably the cutest French bulldog/ring bearer ever. Their wedding was held at their own home, over looking the hills of Santa Cruz. With the help of their coordinator, Yelena Johnson, they transformed the home into the elegant venue that it became on their wedding day. Guests were seated at two 24 foot dinner tables, and during dinner were pleasantly entertained by a slideshow movie of the bride and groom while feasting on local cuisine and wines.
From the Groom… When Josephine and I were planning our wedding at our home, we couldn’t help but be so thankful for what we had. Not only were we able to find each other, but we had a loving family, close friends, and a future ahead of us that we looked forward to filling with happy memories – not just between each other, but with all our friends and family as well. So our wedding day wasn’t just about celebrating our own marriage. It was also about celebrating our friends and family. We couldn’t think of a better way to do that than to welcome them home. Ours! Not just welcoming physically, as we were having our wedding there, but welcoming them into the union of our life – and in a way, solidifying our union with them. Of course, having our wedding at home meant our French Bulldog Bodie and his sister Bella could join too!
We dined underneath the stars with everybody seated in front of the home. We ran in and out in between courses, crowding the kitchen island bar for celebratory toasts. We danced the night away in the dining room while overlooking the bay from the terrace. We couldn’t have been more lucky to be able to share that experience with our friends and to keep those memories here at home with us even after the wedding. How lucky we were to have found the help to recreate our San Francisco life at our home on the Peninsula. And how lucky we are to be able to relieve it each day we come home!
