Hilton Head Wedding from Stephanie Fay Photography

South Carolina sets the setting for some of the loveliest weddings to grace the screen of SMP. Perhaps it's the gorgeous marsh trees or the southern style that seeps into every soiree, but I'm pretty darn sure it's the couples that decide to celebrate their day there that make that state shine. And boy did this duo's day make it shine. It's stylish and sweet and captured beautifully by Stephanie Fay Photography, and you can see it all right here.
And now for a peek at all the pretty through the lens of Robert Charles Wedding Films...

From the Bride... For me there were so many things that made our wedding special, it is hard to narrow it down. We wanted to create a vintage affair to celebrate this special occasion and also recognize and honor out families and loved ones. Every part of the day was perfectly planned, no details were missed. From the moment the day began, and it began bright and early with the arrival of the makeup artist and the hairstylists, it truly was the celebration of my dreams. My family and the bridesmaids were all together at my house which gave us a very special time to be together as we prepared for the big event. Even our two dogs, Sophie and Winnie, were dressed in their wedding attire. While I was putting my wedding gown on, one of my closest friends who was a bridesmaid handed me a gold cross to pin in my dress that she and other close friends had all worn in their dresses on their wedding days. The wedding ceremony was right out of my dreams. I was serenaded down the beautiful flower and candle lined aisle that felt like it was nestled in the trees to meet the love of my life at the alter. This really was the day that I had dreamed of since I was a little girl playing dress up. Our Pastor broke down in tears as he put into words the emotion he felt as he stood there at the alter with us. We pledged to each other the very personal vows that we wrote together. Then we were escorted out of the church by the bagpiper as husband and wife.

Upon arriving at the reception, our guests were led down a decorated pathway that opened onto a patio overlooking the a beautiful South Carolina marsh that was set with gorgeous cream vintage furniture. They were served specialty drinks, appetizers, and a huge seafood and raw bar with ice sculptures as they were entertained by a traditional Gullah Choir. The temperature and the tide were completely out of our control, but the company was the best! For dinner we all moved inside to the ballroom where gorgeous linens, flower arrangements and china were all set at long knights tables. My father welcomed our guests with a fun and very memorable toast. Our cake was a beautiful combination of lace from my dress and details from our invitations topped with antique birds from my grandmother, which was served on mismatched antique dessert plates we collected. As we finished dinner, we were treated to a beautiful summer sunset over the marsh.

Our guests were shocked after dinner with the unveiling of the party room, where the walls and ceiling were draped and washed in soft light, with the two of us standing in the middle of the huge dance floor ready for our first dance as a couple. The massive dance floor was needed to accommodate the crowd that danced to the high-energy 13 piece band that played everything from Jazz to Pop until the music ended at midnight. Our guest had plenty of activities to keep them busy throughout the evening including an espresso and biscotti bar, a photo booth with fun props, a vintage photo gallery of our families, and a table with loose tea for our guests' enjoyment later. Outside under a huge live oak tree that was decorated with hundreds of small white lights, candles, and lanterns was a cordial bar and hand rolled cigars. From the first step into our magical wedding it was obvious the attention and thought that went into planning. Every part of the day was perfect and beautiful, but for me what made our wedding so special were all the very personal details. Our families and loved ones were very much a part of it and the day had so much meaning and was extremely sentimental to us.
