Sonoma Wedding at Cornerstone Gardens from Carlie Statsky Photography
There's just something so magical about Sonoma, making it the perfect place to celebrate the beginning of a new life. It might just be the most romantic spot to say I do. And don't even get me started on all the gorgeous little details of this day, the soft sorbet-like color palette, and the beautiful rustic reception. I could go on and on, but I'll let these pretty images by Carlie Statsky Photography tell their story. See even more right here.
From the Bride... James and I met at work in San Francisco about 4½ years ago and started officially dating after many a friendly lunch about 2½ years ago — timing was everything! Our first date was spent at our favorite pizza joint with a pitcher of beer — it was meant to be. We got engaged in La Jolla, San Diego (where I went to college) on the balcony of our hotel during the most spectacular and romantic sunset I have ever seen, and we immediately began the planning process!
We wanted an elegant yet country garden wedding theme, and the moment we laid eyes on Cornerstone Gardens, we know it would be the perfect venue for our wedding. The sculptures and gardens caught our attention right away, proving to be an excellent background for our special day. I knew I wanted a very rustic event with no linens on our white-washed dinner tables and Tuscan style-floral arrangements with bright pops of color. My mom and I did a lot of the decorations, including the key escort cards (James’ last name is Clavadetscher, meaning "keeper of the keys" in German), the framed table numbers and the bubbles for everyone to blow after our big kiss.
All of our vendors were absolutely amazing, including Alex’s Catering, who served some of the best red pepper ravioli I have ever tasted and some locally grown Sonoma meats and vegetables. Also wonderful was Carlie Statsky, our superstar photographer, who captured amazing images all day long, from me and James getting ready in our separate houses, to the looks of everyone in tears, including James, while I walked down the aisle — those pictures will last a lifetime! All in all, it was a magical day filled with everyone we love, and we can’t wait to visit Cornerstone on every anniversary to re-live the entire event.
