Sydney Wedding at St. Michael’s Golf Club from Global Sanctuary
When a couple meets, falls in love and becomes engaged all in the span of five months, I get happy. Happy because that kind of romance is what dreams are made of and sharing in their Big Day is all kinds of crazy amazing. Case in point? This adorable Sydney duo, who not only had the world’s most romantic courtship, but threw a meaningful (+ gorgeous) wedding to boot. From the Bride… Nick and I have moved fast from the beginning — when you know, you know, right? Within five months of dating we were engaged and beginning to plan our big day. We knew we wanted to make the day enjoyable for everyone, with a central location and available parking. We wanted people to have an effortlessly good time, enjoying the band, scenery, convenience and relaxed atmosphere. I am Jewish, so it was important to include some tradition. We arranged to have a Chuppah at the ceremony, breaking of the glass after the ceremony and a fantastic version of Hava Nagilah by the Baker Boys at our reception. Dancing to Hava Nagilah has got to be one of my fondest memories!
We also wanted to add some personal touches to the reception, so we put together our seating plan with photos of our parents getting married, as well as our grandparents. It was a nice way to show where we came from and also to say thank you to our parents. Our table numbers also included photos of our family on blocks of wood. My dress was inspired by many different designs. I knew what neckline, silhouette and fabric I loved. I was so happy with the dress maker; she was so professional but appropriately honest. As a whole, we were so happy with how the day turned out. It really was our dream wedding!
