We see a lot of pretty here at SMP. So much, in fact, that it can at times be difficult to put words to just how special each wedding day truly is. From the Bride… Kenny and I met at a local bar on “Country Night.” A couple of months later we went on a camping trip and haven’t left each other’s side since. Two years later we were engaged and planning our wedding. We knew exactly what kind of wedding we wanted that would reflect our style and personalities. We wanted something outdoors that was rustic and laid-back, yet elegant and formal enough for a wedding. We found all that and more at Oak Farm Vineyards. From the lake to the barn and vineyards it was the absolute perfect setting. Our venue was so beautiful I didn’t want a bunch of decorations to take away from what it naturally possessed. Angel’s Petals blew me away with her gorgeous simply-chic centerpieces, bouquets, and aisle decor. She perfected my vision.
I was definitely a bride on a budget, so doing as much myself as possible was important. With the help of my family we were able to put our personal touches on everything. Thankfully, they are all still talking to me after having to make program fans, chalkboard signs, seating charts, name tags, and 150 etched mason jars. I scoured Style Me Pretty for months for inspiration and came up with some great ideas on bringing our personal experiences into our big day. We fell in love camping so instead of a cake to share we decided on a S’mores bar, which was a big hit, and a salsa bar with Coronas for the cocktail hour because we were honeymooning in Mexico.
Being a hair stylist I definitely had some pressure to have perfect wedding day hair. My Pinterest worthy locks were done by my coworker (and super talented event hair designer) Jamie Zimmerman from Phoenix Salon in Walnut Creek. Kenny became a father at a young age and our family is everything to us. When his son came down the aisle with his “Here Comes Your Bride” sign there was a huge reaction from the crowd and it made our ceremony so special. It was definitely the best day of my life and I will never forget it. Thanks to Marin Kristine Photography our memories were perfectly captured and we can look back years from now on the day we became husband and wife.
