Lake Tahoe Wedding from Memoire Studio
I'm totally in love with the message from this wedding and think it's a message every bride and groom should get cozy with, especially when planning an outdoor wedding. And that is that life (and weather!) are unpredictable, but at the end of your wedding day, whether you had sunny or rainy skies, you are married to the person of your dreams and it doesn't get any better than that. Memoire Studio captured this gorgeous wedding so perfectly, we can't help but spend a little more time right here.
From Tony, A Groom... I made it clear early on in my relationship with Kevin that getting married in Lake Tahoe was non-negotiable. The wedding colors, the cake, the vendors, even the guest list — all of that could be decided in time. But I had always envisioned getting married outside, next to the crystal-clear Tahoe water, with pine-spotted mountains reaching up in the background. Easily said, but it was much harder to persuade the weather to cooperate with my plans. I checked the weather report almost every hour in the week leading up to my wedding, and I found myself growing more and more anxious as the chance of rain increased bit by bit. My beautiful chalkboard signs, floating candle centerpieces, and the entire dance floor were suddenly imperiled by the prospect of malevolent, vindictive raindrops. Faced with no other choice, I surrendered to fate (and our amazing coordinator), and the wedding went perfectly.
The ceremony was beautiful — short, sweet, and funny with readings from Harry Potter and Jack Johnson. The food was delicious, with some of the best dishes most of us had ever had, regardless of venue. We were surrounded by family and friends. And although the rain made a very brief appearance as if to remind us of life's unpredictability, it disappeared just as quickly. From then on, the sun was shining brightly and the sangria was flowing freely.
I loved every minute of my "rustic" but elegant Tahoe wedding, and I am so thankful I had photographers like Memoire Studio and videographers like Ipomoea to document it. My "very pinterest" wedding was everything I had hoped for and more. Above all, I was joined in union with the man of my dreams whom I will stand by, rain or shine.
