I tried to pick just one thing I loved about this wedding from Steve Lee Weddings, and I failed in the best and prettiest way possible. Everything is totally gorgeous — a beautiful bouquet from Weddings in Bloom, amazing paper goods from Momental Designs, the cutest flower girl ever, a perfect Vera Wang gown, and the list goes on and on. From the Bride… Brandon and I met at a Saint Arnolds Pub Crawl in Houston, wearing the same Converse shoes. The next night we randomly ended up in the same place — destiny.
When we started planning our wedding, we had an objective in mind: we wanted our friends and family to have an amazing time. We picked the most beautiful venue, the Bell Tower on 34th, with amazing food. Then I started off looking for the colors. I decided to go with my childhood favorite color, blue, and what better blue is there than the one from a peacock feather? You can mix so many colors with peacock feathers. To complement, I picked pink, purple, green and gold. I wanted to put my personal touch on everything, so I mapped the whole concept myself and had so much fun planning everything, including finding Kristy Rice from Momental Design. We designed the most beautiful invitations, programs and table cards with the most beautiful flowers I could have imagined. When it all came together, it was the day the I dreamed of, surrounded by the people who love us most.
Without a doubt, the best part of the day was the “first look” we did before the wedding. After all the planning and keeping my dress a secret, it was so exciting to finally be able share this intimate moment before anyone saw us together. Seeing the amazing look on Brandon’s face, I knew it was all worthwhile and could not wait to walk with my dad to give me away to the most beautiful man I have ever met. We exited the wedding the same way as we met: wearing Converse.
