It's hard to imagine anything more romantic than a surprise proposal at Rockefeller Center, unless, of course, that surprise proposal happens to be on a beautiful Christmas Eve night, right under the world's most famous Christmas tree. And that's exactly how it happened for this darling duo, who are not only planning a sure-to-be-amazing winter wedding, but paid tribute to the city they love in their gorgeous e-session captured by Rebecca Yale Photography. New York City Engagement Session
From the Bride... We first met in Washington, DC when we were classmates. It was after years of being friends that we began dating, and luckily both of our jobs brought us to New York City after graduation. In 2011, Dontra suggested we visit Rockefeller Center to see the tree after Christmas Eve mass. I reluctantly agreed, but retreated quickly indoors because it was so cold out. I then got a text saying "Come get your present under the tree!" And it was there, under the brightly lit Christmas tree, that he got down on one knee and proposed! And I said "Yes!"
From Rebecca Yale Photography... Ashley and Dontra are getting married this December in Louisiana, but wanted to have engagement photographs that celebrated the unique spirit and feel of the city. We shot around Central Park and the Upper West Side on a beautiful fall day.
