From Alex of Wild Eyed Photography... I came up with the concept of doing an engagement shoot at a Christmas tree farm right before Christmas because it truly is one of the most magical times of the year.  I quickly enlisted Tiffany Pratt, stylist extraordinaire, to help me out with the vision I had. She is all about DIY and is a crafting queen, so we had a crafting date and made the decorations for the tree.  We were looking to create a whimsical, romantic love scene in the middle of a Christmas tree forest, so Tiffany came up with the idea of covering the tree in gold glitter balls, gold-covered pine cones, feathers, tinsel and twinkle lights. We brought wood, an axe and a ladder, and Sweet Woodruff made us a beautiful winter bouquet to complete the look. Since we haven't had snow yet, we filled bags with fake snow, feathers and gold glitter for Caitlin and Jason to throw in the air.  Caitlin and Jason are truly in love with each other, it was such an honor to be able to capture the magic!

To make the DIY gold glitter balls, we simply sponged styrofoam balls with glue and then placed them in a paper bag filled with glitter. We then shake and baked them and took them out of the bag. Once the glue was dry, we took pieces of fabric and pinned them in a loop to the balls. Et voila: simple yet beautiful homemade Christmas decorations!
