One of our most favorite things about The Metropolitan Building is its mix of both modern and vintage, making it the most perfect place to celebrate your big day because it can be anything you want it to be. We love this couple’s take on it and how they brought loads of modern touches like crisp black and whites, lots of chevron, and pretty pops of purple. Josh Wong Photography captured this gorgeous day perfectly and there’s a whole lot more to see right here.
From the Bride… The Metropolitan Building was the first and only place Matthew and I visited. I went to school for architecture and have a love for interior design, and Matthew is a teacher and avid painter. We instantly knew it was perfect for us! I love the juxtaposition between modern and vintage, so I used this as our theme, starting with our modern chevron place cards. The colors were black and white with pops of cobalt blue and royal purple. I kept the chevron pattern going throughout the space, from the napkins to seating cards — and even our wedding cake. I brought in my Italian heritage with tiramisu push pops, tri-color cookies in our colors and cannoli, which were amongst cake pops and candy. I wanted a structured dress that was still soft and sexy, and my Marchesa dress was just that. It had structured rose sleeves and an open cowl back. This was the most special and perfect day that we both will never forget!
