Villa Parker Wedding from Chris & Adrienne Scott, Photographers

I walked down the aisle with a big bouquet of sunflowers on my big day. Why? Not because they are necessarily my most favorite flower in the world (white tulips hold that title, though sunflowers are pretty high up there) but because they set the mood for a super fun day. Just take this soiree – from the very first shot of those sunny flowers, you know it’s not only going to be gorgeous, but it’s going to be a blast – and with Chris & Adrienne Scott, Photographers behind the lens, you know it’s going to be a blast to look at too, so do not miss the gallery!

Chris, a city boy from Michigan and Jamie, a Colorado country sweetheart, wanted their wedding to showcase their personalities with modern elegance and classic romance. When they began the venue search, they avoided the typical Colorado mountain wedding, and began their search around the city of Denver. While the mountains are beautiful, they were looking for something that matched the soft, romantic elegance Jamie saw playing out in her mind. Rugged Rocky Mountains didn’t seem to fit. Enter Villa Parker. The beautiful Tuscan architecture and privacy of tall stucco walls akin to an Italian chateau resonated with Jamie’s Italian roots and was the perfect blend of Colorado beauty and a romantic escape.

Jamie has a passion for anything crafty and quickly set to work on any DIY element she could think of to set their wedding apart. She and her mom worked to create custom chalkboard signs – some as large 4 feet tall – and hand made all of the table runners for the reception and cocktail hour. The favorite DIY item, however, was the beautiful cowbells that doubled as place cards for guests, but also as favors. Each bell has the couples hand painted monogram on one side and each guests name and table assignment on the other. The colors of ivory, gold and navy were sewn throughout the the ceremony and reception and accented with big bold sunflower and succulent bouquets and details. Jamie’s mom added the sentimental element of making her daughter’s garters out of lace from her own wedding gown and veil. And of course, no wedding would be complete without Kaia, Chris and Jamie’s german shepherd mix, roaming about the reception and keeping a close eye on the occasional table scrap.

When asked what their favorite moment of the whole day was, Chris smiles and Jamie giggles and they both say, “when we high-fived at the end of the ceremony.”
