From Lisa O’Dwyer Lismore Castle is a historic castle owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and is located in the beautiful town of Lismore in rural County Waterford, Ireland. There is a fabulous collection of art in the castle, and an outdoor sculpture park which is very popular.

Declan and David’s ceremony there this September was the first civil partnership to take place at Lismore Castle. The ceremony took place in the Pugin Hall, which was decorated by the 19th century master decorator of the Houses of Parliament, A.W. Pugin.

Declan and David wore suits from Ted Baker. David’s cufflinks were from Dalvey. They gave each other a present of watches before the ceremony. All of the guests enjoyed cocktails in the courtyard of the magnificant castle after the ceremony. The dining room was decorated with colorful bowls of fruit and was very elegant. Declan and David made the table place name cards themselves. The castle catered the meal and did the flower decorations.
