NYC Wedding at Cipriani 42nd Street from Ang Weddings and Events

Ang Weddings and Events has done it again.  Totally blown us away with another drop-dead gorgeous NYC affair.  And this time it’s a traditional stunner with so many amazing moments, you’ll barely believe it’s real.  I’m talking a take your breath away ceremony held at Church of Our Saviour and an equally as stunning Cipriani 42nd Street reception captured by Ron Antonelli of Brian Dorsey Studios.  Ready to get your pretty on?  Join me in the gallery for sooo much more.

From the Bride… Giles and I met just a few months after we both arrived in New York City. It didn’t take long for us to realize that we had met our better halves, and after one short year, we were engaged. We knew from the beginning that we wanted a big New York wedding. We both love this city and couldn’t think of a better fit for our big day. Since I am from Venezuela and Giles is from Barbados, it was also a great way to share a piece of our lives with our friends and family and celebrate with them in the city where it all began.

We looked at a few venues and eventually found the perfect place. It was beautiful and large enough to fit our growing guest list, but it still had a classic New York City feel to it. I had very specific ideas in mind of what I wanted for our big day. Lucky for me, Giles and I have very similar tastes, so we agreed on the ideas. With the help of Tom from Ariston Florists, we went for an elegant mostly white color scheme with blue and gray undertones. My main focus was on the entrance. I wanted there to be a certain “wow factor” when guests arrived. Tom helped me in designing a tree full of hanging white orchids, along with blue and white color-blocked floral arrangements on the escort table. It was gorgeous and still allowed the beauty of the venue to speak for itself.

Other than a beautiful venue, our top priority in planning our wedding was for our guests to have a great time. We wanted great food, fun music and a packed dance floor. In the end, it was all in the details. We decided to get a self-portrait studio where guests could take pictures of themselves. It ended up being one of the highlights of the night! We also provided Soludos espadrilles so that ladies could change their shoes and dance comfortably. As soon as we brought them out, every woman in the room ran to change their shoes and continue dancing, including me! Last, but certainly not least, we had the best wedding band we could have dreamed of. They kept the night going and the dance floor full until the very end. It truly ended up being the perfect day for Giles and me, and our guests had a wonderful time.
