We have a doosy coming your way. A doosy by the likes of Jose Villa and Kristeen LaBrot Events that is sheer magic. And one built exclusively for two. We’re talking gorgeous, all out Elopement goodness that almost needs an easing into it’s so pretty. So that’s just what were doing. Easing into the festivities with a little chat with Kristeen about building your own wedding for two. Plus a few sneak peeks for good measure. If you’re contemplating crafting an intimate affair with just you and your love, then grab a pencil and take notes and we’ll be back in a bit with the whole beautiful live long day.
From Kristeen LaBrot…Over the past few years, elopements have evolved from hush hush nuptials planned in a hurry to full blown romantic getaways. More and more couples are eloping – some feel the intimacy allows them to focus on the true meaning of the day, others do it because of budget constraints or family drama. No matter what your reasoning is for going this route, here are some tips to help you plan:
One. Discuss what’s important to each of you
You want springtime in Paris with 10 of your closest friends, he wants a secret quickie ceremony in Vegas. Talk with your fiancé about expectations so the plans suit you both.
Two. Your wedding planner will become your best friend
Sifting through pages after page of Yelp reviews can be overwhelming, especially when you’ve never stepped foot in that city. A good wedding planner will be your most valuable resource while planning.
They’ll recommend the best vendors to execute your vision and allow you to relax and enjoy every moment.
Three. Hire the best photographer your budget allows
If there’s one area to splurge, it’s photography. Because the majority of your family and friends won’t be in attendance, you’ll want to not only show the events surrounding the wedding, you’ll want them to feel the emotion as well.
Four. Research marriage requirements
No matter where you choose to marry, you’ll need a marriage license. Requirements vary depending on where the ceremony will take place. Make sure you know if there’s a waiting period and what documentation is necessary to have when you apply.
Five and maybe the Most Important. Have fun!
There are no rules of elopement — get married on a Tuesday, wear a gold sequin cocktail dress, eat donuts and sip Veuve. Do whatever it is that makes you both happy and you’ll build a lifetime of memories.
Crazy gorgeous doesn’t even begin to describe this ditty. It’s one that you’ll have to see to believe. We’ll be back in a wee bit with this two parter straight from the golden lens of Jose Villa! xoxo
