When this bride + groom decided to take their wedding a bit off the beaten path, the result was pure, nontraditional perfection. Highlighting their love for the (amazing) Chicago food-scene, they chose the gorgeous restaurant Sepia for their big day, and with the help of Estera Events and Kehoe Designs, created a sophisticated and relaxed celebration of love. Cristina G Photography captured the day beautifully and you can see it all right here!

From the Bride… Having dinner out is one of our favorite things to do together as a couple. We fell in love in Chicago’s great restaurants, so when it came time to choose a location for our wedding, we loved the idea of getting married in one of them! We knew that we wanted the day to feature delicious food and drink in an atmosphere that oozed sophistication without feeling impersonal. Enter Sepia. The instant we walked in, we were sold. We’d had the good fortune of dining at Sepia previously and knew the food was unparalleled, and the warm, modern atmosphere of its private dining space was to die for.
We wanted the day to feel fun, relaxed, and nontraditional. For the florals, we wanted an organic feel with greens and plums to balance Sepia’s metallic and wood tones. The experts at Kehoe Designs executed this vision beautifully, from my stunning succulent-based bouquet to the trees brought in to flank the altar. For our cake, Sepia’s pastry chef made the most amazing croquembouche we have ever seen! Our wonderful coordinator, Hilary Schwartz, and her team at Estera Events added so many special touches to the day; it was their brilliant idea to feature a cookbook as our guestbook and herbs as favors for guests.
All in all, the day was just what we wanted and felt exactly like us. We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it possible, to our guests for celebrating such an important occasion with us, and to our amazing photographer Cristina G, who captured so many of the day’s special moments.
