South Carolina Low Country Wedding from Sean Money + Elizabeth Fay

I have a serious love-affair with backyard weddings, that's no secret, and when this South Carolina backyard stunner came my way, my heart skipped a beat.  One part casual outdoors and one part black-tie formal, this tented masterpiece planned by Tiger Lily Weddings is an explosion of gorgeous. Sean Money + Elizabeth Fay captured the soiree and all of it's perfect detail with an incredibly artistic eye and you can see every last bit in the full gallery.

From Lindsey Shanks of Tiger Lily Weddings... I spent the bulk of my planning experience with the mother of bride because the wedding was taking place eight hours away from where the couple resides, and both the Leigh and Dan had hectic work schedules. What I knew of them both before meeting in person was great business aspirations from the groom and graduate school in the near future and a bride working as veterinarian. I was both impressed and intimidated to meet this dynamic duo, but could not have been more wrong on what their personal presence would be like. They both had such incredible poise and warmth and together were absolutely hilarious and gentle. Leigh wanted a classic June wedding in her parents' backyard that was comfortable but not missing any of the formal elements of a black tie event. The groom requested (as a joke) a fog machine, black and white dance floor, and permission to potentially have a choreographed number be part of the event. At that point on I knew this couple was going to be great to work for and work with. We spent the next year piecing together elements that we relaxed and inviting ( such as the rattan rugs and cafe lighting) and well as the formal ( crystal chandeliers  clear top tent with champagne colored silk draping) all the while keeping it fun and energetic. It was such a different experience planning a wedding in a family backyard and really was such an incredible journey to go on with such great people.  With the amazing help of Susan Mason Catering of Savannah and 7 Once Band of Charleston, the guests entered the family back yard with famous fried oysters and tomato sandwiches and classic jazz hummed along until the couple made their grand entrance under the tent for the first dance...on a black and white dance floor of course!

From the Mother of the Bride... From the beginning stages of the planning process, it was clear both the bride and mother of the bride had the same vision for the special day — simple elegance with a dash of pink (the bride's favorite color) on a full moon, high tide evening at the bride's parents' home in the Low Country of South Carolina. Our plan began with the clear tent with minimal draping and illuminated with chandeliers and perimeter amber lighting, as well as the two sitting areas beyond the tent with seagrass rugs, rattan settees and cafe lighting. Tiger Lily Florist provided the beautiful centerpieces with pink peonies, white hydrangea, orchids and roses. The guests feasted on the incredibly delicious crab cakes, fried oysters and grilled quail by Susan Mason Catering of Savannah and the scrumptious wedding cake by Mollie Stone also of Savannah. The fabulous music provided by 7 Once kept the guests on the dance floor all night long. It was truly a most memorable evening for Leigh, Dan and all the family and friends in attendance.
