From A Simple Photograph … Katie and Kris held their wedding at their family’s home in St Mary’s Ontario. Their wedding was filled with personal touches! Katie flew home from British Columbia a week or so before the wedding and dove into her mother-in-law’s barn that was packed with vintages treasures. She set out to decorate the reception tent with only what she found in the barn and a few meaningful items that she had brought with her including her headpiece, a crown that has been in her family for generations, her grandmothers wedding ring and a suitcase that she purchased years before she met Kris that unknowingly contained a wooden plaque with the name Mrs. Reid on it (her now married name) as if foreshadowing her future! Katie used the suitcase to collect cards in at the reception and keeps the plaque as a momento. Kris made all of the table numbers and Katie set them against stacks of vintage books and pretty teacups.

From the bride … From when I said “I do” on a saturday night things moved really fast. My mom was in town from Ontario and we found the perfect dress the next day and set the date.

We knew that this was going to be one of the only times we could get all of our family and friends together since moving Out West – and we knew right away that it needed to be fun, practical and us.

We chose an antique theme, which worked out great because the grooms parents had everything and more from his grandpa Jack.

The bride was given her great grandmothers wedding ring set and wore an antique family heirloom tiara originating from Russia.

The dress, flowers, grooms attire (the bowtie straight from the brides vacation to Florence) and lemonade stand were all stars of the day.
