Toronto Wedding at Evergreen Brick Works from Lustre Events

If you take nothing else away from this wedding (and how could you not want to eat up every single detail?), I hope you are left remembering some of the most beautifully simple and impactful greenery from Sweet Woodruff. And when Lustre Events pairs those most lovely of flowers with a dynamite Bride being wed in the elegant, old brickyard that is Evergreen Brick Works, there's nothing else to do but fall head over heels in love with this perfectly rustic wedding from Joseph + Jaime Weddings. From the Bride... I knew Conor and I were going to be married from our very first date, and my bridesmaids have the emails to prove it. And it wasn't just because he's a Bell and I'm a Ring. Or because he's a pilot and I'm a travel agent. Our relationship has been effortless, light and playful, and we wanted our wedding day to have the same feel to it. Working in trip planning, I know that in order for a day to feel effortless, you have to put some forethought into it. We quickly decided to bring Morgan and Melissa of Lustre Events in to pull our easy, breezy day together. Every idea I had, no matter how ridiculous or silly, they managed to bring into reality. I mean, it's not every day you can find someone who can combine your love of antlers and antiques and make them look delicate and clean.

That's not to say we didn't get our hands dirty: we built our own altar, table settings, seating charts, and the herbs were tied with care by a small group of volunteers. We even got our guests in on the act; they participated by bringing the treats for our late night pie bar and were ringing bells and hoisting ribbons for our post-ceremony parade. We rewarded everyone for all their hard work with treats aplenty — games were on hand for cocktail hour, there was a magician on hand for tricks during dinner, and if guests didn't feel like dancing, marshmallow roasting was the perfect spot to rest weary feet.
But we really have to hand it to all the local vendors, Lustre Events especially, who all went above and beyond to bring together the millions of details we couldn't pull off ourselves. No one could bring the feeling of fun and play into an invitation like Love Love Me Do. And my seamstress made me feel elegant from my first visit, and if you know me, you know it's no easy feat. Our photographers captured all the speeches, smiles, kisses and intimate moments without feeling in our faces, and the DJ knew the perfect moment to play our sparkler dance and made our remixed wedding dance on the spot. And the flowers, from the bouquets to the centrepieces, felt natural and light. Did I mention I'm still getting compliments on the food?

Our day completely blew our expectations away, and even with all the planning, there still managed to be a few surprises: Conor managed to sneak in a serenade into our speech that had the entire crowd on its feet, we surprised the crowd with a Barbara Streisand remix wedding dance, and Lustre Events even surprised us with a sweetheart table deserving a magazine spread of it's own. Conor and I left the day with a million stories and smiles, and it was the perfect way to enter our marriage.
