From the Bride… What a wonderful experience this wedding has been. I have such great family and friends who helped me through the planning process every step of the way. Choosing a venue was definitely the most challenging and time consuming part of planning. However, upon seeing Vinewood, we were convinced that this adorable rustic chic setting would be absolutely perfect for our wedding and would complement our vision of an elegant, vintage event. Not only was the venue stunning, but the owners were also amazing and helped us every step of the way while we planned the wedding. With the venue decided upon, we were able to continue with making other decisions for the wedding. A large part of the décor was accented with burlap and lace to accentuate the rustic and elegant vibe of the venue. I also decided to use mainly neutral colors in the wedding, which worked well with the natural feel of the venue. Our ceremony was outside under a large tree, from which we hung lanterns, and the reception was held in the stables. Being on a rather limited budget, my fiance and I decided to employ a lot of DIY ideas in our planning process. I had a wonderful team of my mom and sisters, and we did the programs, escort cards, table runners, and lavender pouches that were thrown upon our exiting the reception. It sure was a lot of work but definitely worth every bit — the wedding turned out beautifully.
The attire for the bridal party complemented the wedding colors perfectly. The bridesmaids wore a strapless J.Crew dress in a light driftwood color and nude pumps. The bouquets had a wildflower look with hints of gray and lavender to match the color of the dresses. The groomsmen wore suits a darker shade of gray, and they all looked very handsome. The boutonnieres were simple yet elegant and complemented the bridesmaids’ bouquets. My dress, which I absolutely love, had a full pleated skirt and fitted bodice with a thin waist line of sequins and rhinestones. I also wore a pair of vintage, navy, peep toe pumps that belong to my grandmother and were worn by her when she and my grandfather were married. It was simple yet stunning.
The reception was a blast, and everyone had a great time. From the delicious buffet to the rockin’ dance floor, it was a true party. Instead of the traditional wedding cake, we decided to go with cupcakes, which were absolutely amazing! The baker created a beautiful display with the cupcakes and the cake topper. After dancing the night away and spending time with our wonderful family and friends, we left the reception under a shower of lavender thrown by the guests. It was a beautiful night, and I will cherish the memories forever.
