Malibu Wedding at Calamigos Ranch from Kayla Adams & Co.

The award for most well dressed couple goes to this dynamic duo. Hands down. They are living, breathing modern vintage with a Malibu wedding built in a short three months. For most of you who are in the throws of wedding planning, that little number seems mind boggling but let this gorgeous affair be a testament to the fact that it’s indeed possible. All the festivities were captured beautifully by Kayla Adams along with second shooting by Gabrielle Lemieux and they end with quite the send off. Hint: it involves a Ferris Wheel. See it all right here.

From the Bride… At first glance, a three-month engagement causes immense anxiety and fear of something going less than perfect for “the big day.” I know that this is how I felt when my now-husband, Allen, and I booked Calamigos Ranch for the date of August 3, leaving me shy of three months to get all the details of a wedding together, including the most important part: the dress! I was not the typical girl who had my wedding already planned from childhood, but I tried to keep an easy-going attitude. I began the search for photographers, florists and bridal boutiques. Everything came together quite promptly, surprisingly even the Parisian dress that was rush-ordered from France.

The venue was everything that Allen and I could have imagined. It was full of charm and draped in elegance with its dangling lights and overarching tree, and it also had eccentric features such as the Ferris wheel. Our vision for the wedding was to enhance the already-breathtaking features of the venue through the means of unique florals, consisting of kale flowers, proteas and spices such as sage, mint and rosemary, as well as vintage flair demonstrated in the décor and dress styles. DIY elements built upon the garden setting, allowing us to express our creativity. Everything from the guestbook bench and photo booth backdrop to table décor oddities were all done by me with the help of my awesome bridesmaids. Some of my favorite DIY elements were the message in a bottle station, which featured an old wine rack we spray painted; guests were instructed to write a letter of encouragement to us to be opened on our subsequent wedding anniversaries!

After enjoying a fun night with family and friends, my new husband and I enjoyed a Ferris wheel ride to conclude the night and mark our grand departure. It was a special moment to be able to see all of our guests from a high perspective and enjoy the view with my husband. We then ran through a hand tunnel into a vintage Aston Martin (a surprise from my husband), sipped on some cider, and just like that, the three months of planning was in our rear view and our road trip across Europe and life together was in our future.
