Our wedding day was everything I had dreamed of and more. It came together so perfectly and with the help of so many wonderful people. When I started to plan, there were two things I knew right away: colors (blush, seafoam and gold) and theme (vintage elegance). I have to admit that I cheated a little because Nick and I booked Swan-e-Set before he actually proposed. We had our hearts set on a September wedding and knew the castle-like setting Swan-e-Set offered would add just the right amount of romance. Once my back-ordered engagement ring finally arrived, Nick proposed exactly five months before our wedding date at a lake near our home with candlelight, champagne and rose petals. Five months doesn't seem like a lot of time and I didn't have a wedding planner but thanks to our amazing vendors and my selfless mother, I actually felt pretty on top of my "to-do" list. Of course I searched Style Me Pretty daily for inspiration and I have my wonderful Maid of Honor to thank for introducing me to the blog!

Nick wasn't super involved in the planning aspect because, as he said, he was happy to marry me even if I wore a paper bag in the back yard. He did do an incredible job of supporting me throughout everything though and when I asked, he admitted that two things were important to him: quality photography and that the ceremony was focused on God and our Christian faith. Who our photographer would be was a quick and easy decision. I knew I wanted Mikaela of Mikaela Ruth Photography to photograph our engagement and wedding even before I was engaged! She is so talented and one of the sweetest, most genuine people. She and her husband worked tirelessly to ensure they captured those in-between moments Nick and I shared and even interrupted their dinner to snap a few sunset photos of us. Originally, I wasn't planning on hiring an event stylist but Jessica of Petite Pearl Events was highly recommended to me and I have no idea what I would have done without her. She took my vision of vintage elegance, all of my ideas (even the last minute ones!) and brought them together into cohesive wedding perfection. Her attention to detail is superb and I have received so many compliments from guests and even staff at Swan-e-Set who raved about her designs.

Nick and I feel so blessed by the hard working people who graciously offered us their services. My aunt and uncle made a lovely slideshow of photos of us and my cousin was our very creative and dedicated MC. A family friend created all of the florals, my mom and grandma made our cake and my uncle, a pastor, married us in a personal and very meaningful ceremony. It was incredible to see everything come together on our wedding day. It was truly a labour of love from so many friends and family members. I remember my uncle telling me the day goes by so fast and to take deep breaths and enjoy every moment. It is actually difficult to choose a favorite moment of the day. I loved walking down the path with my dad, headed towards the terrace filled with excited guests and my waiting groom. I loved seeing Nick for the first time that day at our first look. I loved taking photos with everyone using the amazingly fun ChedderBooth photobooth (provided by Mikaela's husband, Shane Bradley) which was a total hit. At one point in the evening, Nick and I snuck away to take a few sunset photos out on the terrace and hearing the sounds of our favorite people in the world celebrating our love was extraordinary.

I am so thankful to my handsome husband, our dedicated vendors and our family and friends for making the wedding of my dreams happen. I couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out and am so thrilled to finally be Mrs. Fairney.
