Chapel Hill Wedding from Cyn Kain Photography + Erin McLean Events

I’m the first to admit I fall in love with a wedding multiple times a day. Sometimes it’s the beautiful blooms that catch my heart, other times it’s the gorgeous venue. Today it was everything. A stunning design from Erin McLean Events for a couple so wonderful you’ll fall in love too. Captured fabulously by Cyn Kain Photographer, and put into a gallery for you, this wedding even has a special treat in the form of a highlight film from Life Stage Films!

And because we couldn’t get away without just a final shot of this adorable couple from Life Stage Films

We met because my best friend from college married Todd’s little brother. They had been trying to set us up for a few years but I was in Colorado and Todd was in Afghanistan… so it never worked out. We finally met at their wedding in May of 2010 and we quickly decided that we were going to make this long distance thing work. They were our matron of honor/best man.

Todd and I had been living apart since we met (Army) He was down in Charleston and I was in DC. One weekend in October when he was up visiting we decided to take a walk through the monuments at night before dinner (I’d been wanting to see the new MLK monument). It was also something we had done one of the first weekends we spent together in DC. It was memorial day weekend and all the monuments were covered with flowers and letters to soldiers. We were both extremely moved by it all at the WWII Memorial and Todd says he knew he wanted to propose there. So – on our walk – when we got the the middle of the WWII Memorial he gave his camera to some strangers to snap a pic and got down on one knee!

Not only that – he had arranged for my parents (From NC) to be waiting for us at dinner. Not only that – his brother John and wife Candice worked with Todds parents to surprise both of us with a visit (from Vermont)! It was so amazing to celebrate with our parents on the spot!
