Stunning blooms and a gorgeous locale set aside, my absolute favorite thing about this perfect Maine wedding has got to be the moment the bride read two diary entries from 2006 about her crush on her (one day) husband. Really, how is a wedding blogger supposed to keep a dry eye after reading that? The wedding was as sweet as the bride, and was captured by Ashley O’Dell Photography and her talented lens. From Ashley O’Dell Photography … Anna and Matt were married on August 4th, 2012 on a quaint island in Maine, Chebeague Island. Although Anna and Matt now live in New York City, Anna knew she wanted to be married at her family home in Maine. After the first look everyone made their way down to The Hook, where a family friend officiated a short but sweet ceremony, by the boat house Anna’s family owns, then it was off to cocktails.
Anna and Matt have a close circle of family and friends who gave very heartfelt toasts throughout the night, but when Anna read two excerpts from her diary, dated 2006, there wasn’t a dry eye in the tent. A girl with a crush knew then that Matt would one day be her husband. As the night ensued an incredible sunset fell across the horizon and celebratory dancing broke out, as paper lanterns were sent off into the night sky.
