Healdsburg Wedding at Chalk Hill from Tia & Claire Studio

Sometimes, it's the flowers that capture our hearts and sometimes it's the venue that sets the stage for beautiful...but this time, it's 100%, hands-down, without-a-doubt about the dress. Layers and layers of mocha tulle atop a stunningly simple bodice...I could go on for days about this Vera Wang masterpiece! Believe it or not, the rest of the Chalk Hill Estate soirée from Tia & Claire Studio is just as beautiful as that dreamy gown. See the rest right here!

From the Bride... We’re from Oklahoma, but we kicked off wedding planning by taking a trip to wine country to select our venue. It rained every day during our four-day trip, which made it incredibly difficult to find the perfect outdoor venue, however the moment we set foot on the hilltop of the Chalk Hill Estate we knew we had found our spot. With its canopy of trees and rolling views of the valley, it was even magical in the rain!

It wasn't until I found my dress though (oh, that dress!) that I really had the "vision" all brides talk about. The color of the dress inspired me to use a muted, neutral color palette that wouldn't compete with the lush green tones of wine country, and gradually my vision came to life with the help of Amy Thumhart, planner extraordinaire, who listened endlessly as I showed her pictures of flowers I didn't know the name of and details I had no idea how to create. Amy and I shared a board on Pinterest that held all of our wedding ideas, and from the lavender sprigs in the champagne to the sunglasses on the dance floor, Amy took every detail from concept to reality.

Our florist, Maria Philben, created  soft floral arrangements that smelled like heaven and resembled the petals on my dress. Our photographers, Tia & Claire, captured the beauty and life of every detail of the day while our band, Busta Groove, kept our guests on their feet until the end of the evening. They even let guests take over the microphone for an impromptu karaoke session of Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places," which closed the evening in our true Oklahoma style.
