When I think of Italy I immediately think romance. And real, utter romance at that. Enchanting, disarming, and the take-over-your-whole-being kind of love that can only happen on those gorgeous cobblestone alleys between the gorgeously rustic city dwellings. And what better setting for a destination wedding than the place of such romance? STUDIO1208 has gorrrgeously captured the essence of Positano, Italy in this wonderful celebration of all things beautiful. See it all right here.

From the Bride… We were engaged on Jeremy’s birthday in 2011, and we wanted a full year to enjoy and plan our wedding. Knowing from the beginning it would be a destination wedding, the next task was picking the right destination. Along with being aesthetically beautiful, we wanted a destination with character and history. We wanted to make our love official in a place that had its own past, and was a good representation of a solid foundation and rooted traditions – similar to what we want for our marriage! I had never been to Italy, but I had always wanted to travel there. Through discussions with friends and research on my own, I felt that Italy might be that place. But where in Italy?! When traveling from Sorrento to Amalfi, you’ll notice the vibrantly colorful homes and restaurants that were built long ago into the cliffs of Positano. They have a look of their own — views of the Isle of Capri and the blue waters of the Amalfi Coast. The town of Positano has always been known for its lemons, and sometimes even more enticing, their Limoncello. Positano isn’t the easiest place to travel to, but is worth the time spent. It’s been preserved and admired for years, and proved to be the perfect spot for a wedding. The five days spent in Positano with some of our closest friends were all we could have ever hoped for — participating in cooking classes, taking boat rides around Capri, long lunches filled with wine and desserts, and drinking beers and watching the Euro Cup in a bar we later realized was a glorified European 7-Eleven. It all contributed to an experience we, and our guests, will cherish and remember for a lifetime.
Our photography/cinematography team was, no doubt, the absolute icing on the cake. Through a friend back in California, Jeremy and I met Maria and Nick of Studio1208 via Skype about nine months prior to the wedding and were an instant match. Their easy-going personalities, flexible process, proactive approach and professionalism allowed us to feel fully confident in planning a few days of shooting in a place neither couple had ever traveled to. From the moment the four of them met in person on the terrace of their hotel, Maria and Nick meshed with the entire wedding group without a hiccup. They spent the next three days with them as if we’d been friends our whole lives. The experience could not have been richer or more meaningful. They brought laughter to the process, froze special moments in time with their creative photography and brought to life the entire day with a comprehensive and energetic film including friends, family and perfectly-selected musical accompaniment.
We have the fondest memories of our wedding trip and now have images and films to share with those who couldn’t make it, as well as generations to come. We still watch our videos from time to time and dream about going back to that place we fell in love with just two months ago. All thanks to Studio1208.
