I'm just going to start out by telling you that I am 100%, totally head over heels in love with this elegant Perth soiree, but you should know... that's a total understatement. Because the way I am feeling for this gorgeous wedding is seriously beyond words, because, well. It's just that amazing. A black-tie affair set against a stunning Caversham House backdrop with beautiful blooms by Urban Flowers, it's a fairytale come to life, beautiful gowns included. From the Bride... Our wedding was held on March 31, 2012, at Caversham House, located in the middle of the famous Swan Valley in Perth, Western Australia. Caversham House is a homestead surrounded by lush gardens and grand limestone staircases and walkways. It's to die for. The event was a glamorous black tie affair, starting with pre-dinner cocktails and followed by a delicious, four-course, sit-down dinner. Our theme was "Vintage Glamour." We had a harp and flute duo playing while guests arrived and mingled after the ceremony. They played the theme to the Princess Bride as I walked down the aisle with my mum. We provided hand fans and parasols for shelter of the sun, but it turned out to be a perfect day anyway!
I wore two dresses. The first, for the ceremony, was by Pronovias, and the second was by my boss Lisa Ho. I have worked for Lisa for seven years, and she also designed the beautiful, one-shoulder, dove gray bridesmaids dresses. She also designed my mother's gown, as well as dressing many of the guests. All accessories were also by Lisa Ho. The groom wore Hugo Boss, and the groomsmen were in Studio Italia. The groomsmen were given cufflinks with their initials, in type writer font to stay in line with the vintage theme.
We had David Austin roses throughout the venue, attached to ornate birdcages and in our bouquets. Also with white spray roses and lisianthus. We secured our bouquets with Swarovski crystal wraps to add a touch of sparkle. Female guests were given a vintage lace hand fan to take home. We had a beautiful candy buffet for post-dinner snacks that was designed by Candy Couture.
