It is one of the greatest gifts for bloggers like me to open up a wedding so filled with the fun-loving-goodness and happiness as this beauty from Victoria Sprung Photography. I found myself giggling out loud at some of the great images of these guests as they got their groove on to the sounds of Emily of Toast & Jam at the wonderfully colorful Carnivale in Chicago. From Victoria Sprung Photography… Ashley is a fellow animal lover and vegetarian, and both Ashley and Dan have fantastic taste in music. When I heard that they were using the same DJ I did for my own Wedding (Emily of Toast & Jam!), I knew that this was going to be a night to remember!
I started off the day with Ashley getting ready at the Sofitel, while my second photographer, Nicoletta, went to visit the guys at the best man’s place. We arranged a dramatic first look for the couple at the Sofitel on a beautiful staircase. Next, we headed over to Olive Park for some fun, creative photos. It was very hot that day, but you wouldn’t be able to tell from the huge smiles on everyone’s faces. After some portrait time, we headed over to Carnivale in Chicago for the ceremony and reception. Carnivale is a colorful, lively and fun space. The ceremony was heartfelt and sweet, especially with Ashley’s step-dad and father leading her down the aisle. The guests were treated to cocktail hour, and Ashley’s dad made the super-cool musical note place cards and stand himself! A lot of really unique and beautiful touches and details were throughout the reception, made by various family and friends. My favorite was the vinyl record table names, named after various concerts the couple has been to together. Ashley and Dan’s first dance was soft and romantic, and the speeches were funny, nostalgic, and sentimental. Next it was time to dance the night away! Emily from Toast and Jam did not disappoint, as she led the crowd into a frenzy on the dance floor:)
