There is nothing I don’t love about this wedding at home. The flowers are stunning, the bride is glowing, the desserts look delicious… even the vintage tins incorporated in the tablescapes are perfection. It was all beautifully captured by heidi-o-photo, and beautiful it was indeed. From the Bride… Our love story began when we were introduced by our childhood friends, who were married in 2008, Lisa & Jon. Since that evening, our new found friendship blossomed into full blown love based on faith, family, friends, and lots of fun. Taking those four things into consideration we decided the only way for us to celebrate was to hold the ceremony at our parish St. Edward the Confessor and then the reception at our house; where we could invite everyone we wanted to, eat & drink what we pleased and party the night away with everyone we love!
Jonathan and I appreciate vintage things. To us, older items have humble color pallets, are packed with character, and tell stories rich with tradition and value. So we decided that a vintage wedding with ivory, cream, pale green, and brown would suit us just fine. To complete this vision a few sets of vintage furniture were brought in, as well as, a vintage bathtub for icing down bottled beers, some hay bales for extra seating, tons of market lights, and a family portrait wall was created to capture the uniting of the two families.
Since we asked our family and friends to drive an hour, to get to the house, we thought it was important that we offered them as many of our favorite foods and desserts as possible. Upon arrival the guests went to the back of the property where Mexican food (with a shot of tequila on the plate), Mexican beers and frozen margarita popsicles were served. For dinner, BBQ food and ALL the fixings was in order. My favorite part of this meal was the ‘salads in a jar’-super cute! To accompany the food, three bars were set-up around the property where drinks like ‘Honeymoon Sweet Tea’, the ’07-07-12’ (Seagram’s 7 and 7up), and moonshine were served. Oh, and our favorite Stone Brewery selections on tap! Once it was time for dessert the guests went to the dessert room where yummy goodness such as mini pies, margarita cupcakes, churro cakes, and cake pops galore were waiting to be enjoyed!
There are no words to explain the sheer joy and excitement of having all of our family and friends around to support us and show us their love on that very special day. We are forever grateful to all of them! (and all the amazing vendors that made this day so beautiful)
From heidi-o-photo …Shannon and Jonathan had a traditional Catholic ceremony at Shannon’s church and held the reception at their home in Valley Center, CA. The bride wanted an elegant/rustic/vintage backyard reception with lots of neat details.
Erin from Hall Weddings & Events created the vision for the entire day. She gathered all the vendors and created the tablescapes and decor.
The guests were greeted with hand-passed Mexican appetizers when they arrived at the house, and had BBQ for dinner. For entertainment there were two photo booths- one when the guests arrived and another at the back of the property.
The bride had two dresses- one long gown for the ceremony and portraits and a shorter one for the reception.
